But until we get to Star Trek-like Holodecks, we have to focus on the present – in today’s case, the best VR headsets for iPhones and Android devices. These are still cheap options (when compared to more complex standalone Virtual Reality headsets) and deliver a solid quality virtual reality experiences for sure.

But with so many options available on the market, you want to make sure that you get the best product available, and for that we have below the best VR headsets for mobile. Fortune Mobile VR Headset – Editor’s Choice

Fortune Mobile VR Headset

This is our top pick when it comes to a VR headset for mobile phones, be them iPhones or Android devices.

This VR headset works with mobiles that are 6.5″ or under, so they work great with iPhone models and most flagship Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy S10, S10 Plus and so on. Really, most phone models are supported.

Offering great quality for a really good price, the Fortune Mobile VR Headset comes with a remote control that works better than most (although still with minor flaws here and there), but the best thing about it is that it has a built-in anti blue light filter that will keep your eyes safer. A really must since you’ll be staring into the screen from such a close range!

Apart from that, it comes with built-in headphones and has a lot of customizable options to make it your own.

It is also extremely comfortable and not heavy, with a built in heat dissipation function that comes in handy when you use it for longer periods of time. It still gets warm, like all similar devices, but not as much as other products that we’ve tried.

All in all, this is by far our favorite – but if you don’t like it for whatever reasons, there are more options below. Until then…

Bnext VR Headset

Another really solid option comes from Bnext who have been working constantly to make their products better. And this particular model comes with some really large lenses that make the entire VR experience a lot more pleasant.

This model works with iPhones and Android phones that have a display size between 4 – 6.3 inches, which means that it does work with most models out there, except for the really large ones like the S10 Plus (although the manufacturers state that the headset does work with it as well!)

It doesn’t have a controller, but it makes up for that with the solid FOV and large lenses that reduce distortions and make the entire experience pleasant.

It is also very comfortable to wear, even for longer periods of time. It’s worth noting that at the moment of writing this, it is the best selling product on Amazon, with glowing reviews – and I guess that says a lot about its solid quality.

Pansonite VR Headset

They might come with a big typo on their presentation file, saying that they have anti blue light “caoting” (instead of coating), but despite that, the product itself is really, really good.

The only reason why we chose the Fortune Mobile VR set as the editor’s choice above this one was the fact that Pansonite’s headset only works with phones with display sizes up to 6 inches.

But despite this inconvenience, if your device fits, you will get a more than pleasant experience thanks to its solid lenses with good field of view, as well as the blue light filter which comes in handy and is a must in my opinion, especially if you’re going to spend a lot of time with VR apps and movies. It has a controller as well, which is always nice to have as an added bonus.

It is also very comfortable to wear – almost identical to the first recommendation, I’d say – and also has some good headphones to increase immersion. All in all, a very good product that you’ll have no reasons not to be satisfied with. Just make sure that your phone fits (I repeat: it only works with displays of up to 6″).

DESTEK V5 VR Headset

DESTEK V5 VR Headset

We’re back to virtual reality headsets for mobile that offer support for increased screen sizes. While this product didn’t make it on our list in previous years, it does now thanks to an updated version that we’re very happy with.

Coming with an increased field of view, as well as an anti blue light coating and wide lenses, this VR headset has all that it needs to become a fan favorite. The lenses could’ve been a bit larger to offer even better image quality, but things are looking good as they are anyway.

Two of its features can provide extremely helpful in specific situations: for starters, you can use it while wearing glasses; and second, it has an easy to remove face mask, making cleanig the device a very simple job.

It works with large phones – display sizes between 5.5 inches and 6.5 inches – which basically covers all recent models, it is easy to wear and pretty comfortable (even though the straps don’t make me very happy). Plus, it has a controller to make navigating the apps a lot easier.

All in all, definitely a great option for those looking for a good Virtual Reality headset for their phone.

These would be our recommended options. In my opinion, just recommending the Fortune Mobile VR headset was enough – as you don’t really need anything else but that, but since it’s always good to have multiple options, you have those as well.

I am sure that no matter which of the models recommended above you’ll pick, you will have a a lot of fun experimenting with VR on your mobile phone. And if you want to get the complete experience, make sure that you also have one of these best mobile phones for gaming as well!
