Catching Pokemon and collecting research on them is one of the main components of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Wild Pokemon of all different kinds live all over the Hisui region and some are trickier to get than others. Most are friendly, but some can be skittish, hard to find, or downright aggressive. Here are the 5 Pokemon that will likely give you the most trouble when trying to acquire them.
Togepi
Togepi is a rare spawn, meaning it won’t always show up in the places where it usually spawns. Combine this with the fact that it will dart if approached and it becomes one of your biggest headaches. If you’re lucky, you can find one while it’s asleep and it will be slightly easier to approach. You can also use food to distract it or items to stun it. Togepi spawn at the Bathers’ Lagoon in the Cobalt Coastlands and the Cottonsedge Prairie in the Crimson Mirelands.
Cleffa
While Cleffa isn’t exactly aggressive, knowing how to get one can be tricky on top of the fact that it’s a rare spawn. This Fairy-type and its evolutions are only found at the Fabled Spring in the Coronet Highlands and only show up there at night, so make sure to sleep at a Camp until Nightfall before doing this. To get to Fabled Spring, head west from the Highlands Camp until you come to a bridge. Jump down into the water on the left side of the bridge, swim down and you will find pieces of land on the left and right. This is the Fabled Spring. Since Cleffa are rare, remember that you might have to leave and come back a few times before you spot one.
Alpha Garchomp
The Alpha Garchomp that lives in the Avalanche Slopes section of the Alabaster Icelands is considered the strongest Alpha in the game and requires a considerable amount of strategy to capture as such. Found at level 85, it definitely will pack a punch on you and your team. You can try to catch it without being spotted and if you’re lucky, it’ll stay. However, the Alabaster Icelands don’t offer much in the ways of hiding places and you will more than likely be spotted. Bring a team of leveled Water and Fairy types in order to counter Garchomp’s Ground and Dragon typing.
Magnemite
If you want a Magnemite, they are somewhat out of the way to find. Magnemite is not found anywhere in the wild in Hisui but comes in only through Space-Time Distortions in the Cobalt Coastlands. Space-Time Distortions unlock once you beat Kleavor and appear on the map at random, typically once you’ve caught a certain number of Pokemon. Once a Distortion appears, go to where it is in the Cobalt Coastlands and there should be Magnemite showing up.
Snorlax
Unless you are able to catch the Alpha Snorlax in the Obsidian Fieldlands, the only real way to get a Snorlax in the game early is by catching and evolving a Munchlax. Snorlax have a very low spawn rate, even lower than that of their pre-evolution Munchlax, and can’t be found in the wild until you make it to Alabaster Icelands. To get Snorlax early, seek out a Munchlax where they spawn in Deertrack Path in the Obsidian Fieldlands. Munchlax is considered a Rare Spawn, so be prepared to wait a while for one to appear.
