Mysterious Shards are the key to being able to purchase the Slates you need to get encounters with Legendary Pokemon in Ramanas Park. Here is how to go about that.

How To Access The Area Mysterious Shards Are In

First, you need to make sure that you have unlocked the Grand Underground because that’s where the Mysterious Shards are. To do this, you will need to have spoken to the Underground Man in Eterna City, who will give you an Explorer Kit that will grant you access to the Underground area.

mining for mysterious shards in pokemon brilliant diamond

Mysterious Shards can be mined in the walls in this area. Make sure when mining that you use the pick tool and not the hammer, as the hammer will make the wall break faster and you can risk possibly losing a Shard. Mysterious Shards are rare, so if you lose one, you may not come across another one for a while.

How To Identify Mysterious Shards

Mysterious Shards come either as a Large Mysterious Shard or Small Mysterious Shard. Both versions are pink but vary slightly in appearance. The larger one resembles a flower and the smaller one is closer to a diamond shape. In order to exchange these for Legendary slates at Ramanas Park, you will need to have defeated the Elite Four and completed the Sinnoh Pokedex. Only then will the Park unlock. Once you find 3 small Shards or one Large Shard, visit the shop at Ramanas Park to trade them in for a Slate of your choice.
