Minecraft is a vast open-world game, and it’s quite common for you and your friends to lose yourselves in the world. Therefore, the map feature plays a vital role in Minecraft as it is used to locate the players’ exact location and how far away are they from a certain point.
In order to keep track of the locations you visited, players can make a copy of the map to share their journey. Making a copy of the map is relatively straightforward. Nevertheless, players are having a hard time while doing so, here’s a guide that decodes the procedure to copy a map in Minecraft.
How to make a copy of Minecraft map?
Minecraft players can create a copy of their map that other players can use by placing it on a cartography table. If a user doesn’t have a cartography table, he can craft it using the following ingredients:
- 2 Paper
- 4 Planks (any type)
One can also find a cartography table inside a cartographer’s home in a village. However, it’s a relatively complex way and highly recommended to craft by farming some materials.
After crafting a cartography table, place the map that you want to copy on the upper slot of the cartography table and a blank one at the bottom. Finally, it will start copying everything from the first map on the blank piece of the map. Once done, you can share it with other players to share information.
The player who takes your copied map will be able to see everything you’ve added to it. However, you can’t update anything after making a copy. In order to make any change, you’ll need to follow the above process again.
