Genshin Impact has been going strong since its release back in September 2020, and developer miHoYo is doing an amazing job in providing new content to the game in the form of new characters and new regions to explore, among other things.
The new regions to explore are obviously the biggest additions we have seen so far in Genshin Impact, and miHoYo seems to be committed to releasing a new region every year. As of early 2022, we have received two of them and another one, Sumeru, is supposedly launching later this year.
But when exactly will Genshin Impact players be able to explore it? Let’s find out.
Genshin Impact Leaks: When is the Sumeru Region Coming Out?
According to a leak that has been shared on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit, the Sumeru region will be added to Genshin Impact with update 3.0, which is apparently going live on August 3. Developer miHoYo has yet to talk about this, so we have to take this information with a grain of salt, especially considering how far August 3 is, and how things can change during development, especially in these trying times.
No matter when the Sumeru region will become available in Genshin Impact, we should expect it to spice things up quite a bit. The region is led by the Dendro Archon, whose identity is still shrouded in mystery, and the new element, if it debuts with the new region, could change combat considerably, especially in relation to the other elements that are already available in the game. Exciting times ahead for Genshin Impact fans nonetheless, that’s for sure!
