Unfortunately, you will not be finding Bells in any regular tree, as you will have to put in some work to get some serious amount of money from Money Tree. Here’s how to plant them and how to make the most out of them.

How to Find and Grow More Money Trees in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To grow Money Trees in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you will need to find Shining Spots on your island. One spot appears every day, so make sure to explore thoroughly to find it, especially at night, since it is easier to find them.

Once you discover a Shining Spot, dig up the buried money, 1,000 Bells, which is a decent chunk of money, but it’s not all that you can get from these Shining Spots. Make sure to bury your own Bells in the Shining Spot to see a sapling grow, then wait 4 days for it to grow into a tree.

Once a Money Tree has fully grown, shake it three times to get Bells. Once it has produced them once, a Money Tree will turn into a regular old oak, so you can decide to cut it down to get some wood.

To make the most out of Money Trees, you will need to bury specific amounts of Bells. Generally, playing it safe and not burying excessive amounts of Bells is the way to go, since Money Trees can yield three times the amount of Bells you have buried, but they can also fail, giving you only 10,000 Bells per shake, no matter how much Bells you have buried. If you feel like gambling, you can also bury the maximum amount, 99,000 Bells, but you risk getting only 30,000 of these back, so beware.
