Shin Megami Tensei V features a lot of different demons, but the best ones are those that can be obtained via Special Fusion, one of the demon fusion mechanics in the game. Unlocking these Special Fusions require quite a bit of effort, but it will be worth it, especially if you are playing the game at a high difficulty level.
Here’s how to fuse one of these extremely powerful demons, Baal.
How to Fuse Baal in Shin Megami Tensei V
Baal, like many other demons that can be made to join your party via Special Fusion, must first be defeated before it can be fused. You will fight the demon as part of Demeter’s questline in The Bull God’s Lineage sidequest. The demon is at Level 69, so you will be able to take him on only after you have made quite a bit of progress in the main campaign.
After defeating Baal, you can get it by fusing Mot, Belphegor, and Mithras.
Baal’s Resistances and Skills
Baal is undoubtedly one of the strongest demons in the game, starting out at Level 93 and coming with a variety of resistances that make him good at fighting a variety of enemies. He resists Fire and Force, repels Electricity and nulls Light. He is weak to Ice, so enemies using Bufu skills will be able to damage him heavily and get extra turns by exploiting his weakness.
Baal is also a rather versatile offense-oriented demon that can use a variety of skills well. He comes with a +5 in Electricity, +4 in Ailments, +3 in Fire and +2 in Force. His -5 in Ice is expected, given his weakness.
Below, you will find all the skills Baal learns.
