Can You Get Normal Typhlosion in Pokemon Legends Arceus? – Answered

Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released last month after much fanfare and hype. It is the latest installment in the Pokémon series and takes a much different turn than its predecessors do in terms of storytelling and game mechanics.

The game takes place in the ancient Hisui region, which would become modern-day Sinnoh. Fighting and capturing Pokémon is drastically different with battles taking place on the overworld instead of turn-based instance battles, as was the staple of the series thus far.

Even the starter Pokémon in this game do not follow the staple of the previous games, with each one being from a different region in the Pokémon franchise. Today we will be talking about one of the starter Pokémon, Cyndaquil, and its final evolution, Typhlosion.

Cyndaquil and Typhlosion

Cyndaquil is a starter Pokémon introduced in Generation 2’s games of Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. It makes its return in Pokémon Legends: Arceus alongside Oshawott and Rowlett, two starters also from different regions; Unova and Alola, respectively.

Typhlosion is the final evolution of Cyndaquil. It used to be a Fire-type Pokémon in all of the older games, that is, until it got its own Hisuian form. Hisuian Typhlosion varies from its non-Hisuian counterparts by being a Fire/Ghost-type Pokémon.

This variation is unique to Hisui and players have been enjoying this fresh take on older starter Pokémon. Although, some players have been feeling nostalgic and are wondering if there is a way to get the classic Typhlosion back.

Can you get the old Typhlosion?

Unfortunately for nostalgic fans, from what we know thus far, there is no way of getting the classic forms of Hisuian starter Pokémon, including Typhlosion. This rule applies to most Hisuian forms in the game as well. If at some point, Nintendo decides to release events that change this, we will update this guide and keep you posted!
