In Minecraft, players can build their own underwater bases to conceal and protect their valuable resources. These bases can be thought of as an underwater city with a beautiful view of the aquatic landscape. However, these are much harder to build and can be very exhausting. But, with a little effort and perseverance, anyone can come up with a modern and practical underwater base in Minecraft. This article will be a guide on how to build an underwater base in Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
How to Build an Underwater Base in Minecraft Bedrock Edition
The construction of an underwater base in Minecraft can be split into two different phases: building and clearing the water. The first stage involves constructing the base. In order to start with your underwater base, you must have a desired location in mind. You will want to protect and hide your underwater base from others. Building a structure deep in the water is a perfect option. Once you have found a nice spot, simply start building the underwater base in any design you desire. You can even take advantage of Kelp since you can place blocks on it.

The next step requires you to clear water out of the underwater base. This may vary depending on whether you are in Creative or Survival mode. Creative mode players can simply spawn sponges, which will empty out an area of water when placed. As Survival mode doesn’t have sponges, players can either find an ocean monument and kill Elder Guardians to obtain sponges or manually remove the water.
To manually clear the water, you will need to fill up the entire base with an easily breakable block. Once filled, you can break all of the blocks, which will make the base completely dry. To enter the base, you can use doors, banners or fence gates, which provide an air pocket so that the water does enter the base.
