The game was released for Android and iOS on April 25, 2018. Players praised its free-roam settings throughout Hogwarts with an underlying original plot looming in the background. There are a lot of entertaining features added in between the main story to make the game more engaging for players.

The Dormitory was introduced in 2020 and it has been a staple feature of the game for a while. There are a bunch of things to access in the Dorms.

Dormitories

Every House in the Harry Potter game, be it Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff, has their own dormitories for all witches and wizards. Each dorm provides the player with several things to interact with.

First and foremost, every achievement that the player has garnered throughout (some of) the main story and time-limited side quests will yield certain items that can be displayed on the walls of the dormitory and around the bedside area. These items can include simple decorations to items that can also provide free energy (either once a day or once every two days depending on the item). Some of these items can also drop free gems.

These are some of the items on display:

  • Bookshelf: Heart, Butterfly Jar, Snowglobe, Niffler Trophy
  • Wall: OWLS results, Patronus picture, Festival picture, Hogwarts postcard, Quidditch plaque

The other thing that dorms are good for is to house all of the player’s pets. Every pet ranging from owls to lizards to dogs and cats and every other magical pet relaxes in the dorm whenever the player decides to return back. Every pet provides free energy every day, while again, some provide energy once every two days. A good indicator of whether the pet will provide energy is checking whether the pet is asleep or not. If it is asleep, waking it up by tapping it will provide free energy.
