Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is a role-playing video game developed and published by Jam City under license from Portkey Games. The game is set in the Wizarding World and based on the Harry Potter novels written by J.K. Rowling.
The game was released for Android and iOS on April 25, 2018. Players praised its free-roam settings throughout Hogwarts with an underlying original plot looming in the background. There are a lot of entertaining features added in between the main story to make the game more engaging for players.
One of the fun activities in the game that was introduced was that of Magical Creatures and an entire enclave for players to acquire and raise them for a multitude of bonuses.
Magical Creatures
Magical Creatures were introduced with the Magical Creature Reserve update. The types of creatures and the amount that players can raise and tame is highly dependent on the player’s Magizoologist level.
Porlocks are one of these creatures and can be obtained fairly easily.

Porlocks are Magical Creatures that originally tended to guard horses, native to England and southern Ireland.
In Hogwarts Mystery, Porlocks are a subject topic for students in their Care of Magical Creatures class hosted by Professor Kettleburn. When the Magical Creature Reserve was introduced, Porlocks could be acquired as creatures that the player could take care of. They reside in the Grasslands area of the Reserve.
As is with any Magical Creature in the game that can be tended to, Porlocks have a total of 10 levels, they are as follows:
- Mistrustful I
- Mistrustful II
- Trusting I
- Trusting II
- Trusting III
- Devoted I
- Devoted II
- Devoted III
- Devoted IV
- Devoted V
Each level provides players with unique rewards like gold, energy, gems, and even notebooks! To speed up the leveling process, bonding once in 12 hours and feeding 3 food once every 4 hours is optimal.
