Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires may allow players to shape history as they see fit, but it’s not like the entirety of the game’s story is a work of fiction. While the story is indeed based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novel, many of the events described in the novel and in the Dynasty Warriors games really happened between 169 and 280 AD.
In the game’s Conquest Mode, you can play different campaigns that let you determine how the events of these years will play out. Here are the kingdoms you can join and which one should you choose to have an easier time when starting the game.
All Kingdoms in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires
Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires features four different kingdoms: Jin, Shu, Wei and Wu. These, however, matter very little in the grand scheme of things, which is not too surprising, considering you are free to proceed in the conquest of China in any way you want.
If you are just starting the game, and have never played an Empires game before, you should look more at the territories you will start in, rather than the faction or kingdom you will join. Getting more than a single territory at the start of the game is quite beneficial, as you will have more resources at your disposal. Territories located on the sides of the map should also be preferred, as there are lower chances of them getting invaded. Use this opportunity to learn more about defending your territories so that you will be prepared when your kingdom will have been expanded and will be invaded by even multiple kingdoms at once.
