With the most recent Pokemon Presents, also came the shocking announcement of Generation Nine in the Pokemon game franchise, with Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet being released sometime during the end of 2022; presumably November, just as they did with Pokemon Sword and Shield.
Along with two different versions of the same game releasing for the beginning of the Ninth Generation will come version exclusive content, just as was the case with every Pokemon Generation that has come before them.
What are the Differences Between Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
So far, the only differences that have been confirmed to be legit difference between Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are the outfits the main character starts with and the crests associated with each version. Scarlet’s crest is inspired by oranges, while Violet’s crest is inspired by grapes. The crests appear to be donned on the main character’s left sleeve.
As visible above, the beginning outfit in Pokemon Scarlet consists of a red-orange tie and shorts detailed with yellow pinstripes, a white hat, white socks, and black shoes. The beginning outfit in Pokemon Violet, on the other hand, consists of a purple tie and shorts, a darker hat, black socks, and black shoes.
While these are the only confirmed differences between the two games so far, it is almost certain that there are going to be version-exclusive Pokemon between the two games as well. This has been the tradition with every mainline Pokemon game so far, making it so that you will have to trade with a player playing the other version in order to catch every Pokemon in the region’s Pokedex.
