Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is a role-playing video game developed and published by Jam City under license from Portkey Games. The game is set in the Wizarding World and based on the Harry Potter novels written by J.K. Rowling.
The game was released for Android and iOS on April 25, 2018. Players praised its free-roam settings throughout Hogwarts with an underlying original plot looming in the background. There are a lot of entertaining features added in between the main story to make the game more engaging for players.
One of the features recently introduced in the game in 2020 was the addition of the Magical Creature Reserve.
Magical Creature Reserve
The Magical Creature Reserve was a new area introduced to the game where players can adopt their choices of Magical Creatures. Players can adopt them, feed them, bond with them and take care of them, all in the Magical Creature Reserve.
Magical Creatures were introduced with the Magical Creature Reserve update. The types of creatures and the amount that players can raise and tame is highly dependent on the player’s Magizoologist level.
There are eight environments in the Reserve:
- Grasslands
- Forest
- Dark Forest
- Lake
- Rocky Mountains
- Scorched Vale
- Foggy Moor
- Dusklands
Each environment can house different kinds of creatures that survive and thrive in their areas. There are about 40 magical creatures for players to adopt, 39 of which are currently available. Upon adopting, each magical creature will reside in its own environment where players can then interact with them later. Each level of the creature’s friendship will provide players with unique rewards and upgrade their Magizoologist level in order to acquire more creatures for the Reserve.
