Just like Bloodborne, Demon’s Souls, Sekiro, and the Dark Souls series, Elden Ring was directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. The caveat here is that the game was made in collaboration with the award-winning fantasy novelist and source material creator for the highly popular Game of Thrones television show, George R. R. Martin, who provided a lot of source material for the game’s setting.

Elden Ring was released for Microsoft Windows, Steam Deck, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on February 25, 2022.

The Soulsborne games are known for their difficulty level, and Elden Ring is no exception. Another aspect of these games which add a little wrinkle to the gameplay mechanics is those of capped out stats for the player character.

Stat Caps

In the Soulsborne games, players generally pick a character and build them a certain way based on the main stat of their choosing. In most popular cases, players choose to focus on either their Strength, Dexterity, or Intelligence to build their characters as heavy hitters, speedy/ranged attackers, or mages, respectively.

In order to not make these characters too strong and break the game, FromSoftware has added caps to each stat. Every stat has two types of caps, hard caps and soft caps.

Soft caps are limiters for a certain stat, beyond which the effectiveness of the stat gradually diminishes, so players are recommended to generally not invest too much in that stat beyond the soft cap. On the other hand, hard caps are straight-up dead ends for stats, where no matter how much players invest into it beyond the hard cap, there will be no effective increase.

In order to know where to stop leveling a certain stat, we will tell you what the soft cap of each stat is:
