With a game that is based around teamwork, synergy, and camaraderie, The Show has never managed to reel in co-op as a feature in any of its past games.
The good news is that for the first time in the series’ history, co-op play will be available for gamers who get their hands on MLB The Show 22, but not in the way that you think.
How Will Co-op Work in MLB The Show 22?
The newest instalment in the MLB The Show franchise is going to feature competitive, cooperative online multiplayer. What this means is that there is no human v/s AI opportunities in online co-operative games, which is exactly why the name goes as “online competitive co-op,” as both sides need to have human players.
Teams of two or three friends can split up the on-field duties and tackle other teams of two or three where one player will pitch, the other will be middle infield, and the third player will take right field with all three players being able to hit, as designated hitters are not being included in the lineup this year.
The National League will join the American League and adopt DHs for the 2022 season. Last year, Diamond Dynasty’s pitchers all hit for themselves, which ended up accommodating the new two-way created players who can both pitch and hit.
The new online modes are also confirmed to be cross-platform supported, which means that Switch owners can team with Xbox Players to take down PlayStation players, and vice versa.
