Who is the Hardest Character to Unlock in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The latest entry in the series is also quite welcoming when it comes to content unlocks, as most content is available right from the get-go. But one character, in particular, can take you a long time to unlock, especially if you’re a newcomer to the series.

Here’s who’s the hardest character to unlock in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Who is the Hardest Character to Unlock in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe features 42 different characters, but one of them, or rather, an alternate skin, has to be unlocked before it can be used both in local and online play. Funnily enough, the only character that has to be unlocked in the game is quite difficult to get, and it would have definitely been the hardest if other characters had to be unlocked in the game.

To unlock Gold Mario, the only unlockable character in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and thus the hardest for obvious reasons, you will have to win all Cups in the 200cc difficulty setting by getting to the first place. While you do not need to reach first place in every race, you will still need to place quite high in each of them, not an easy feat considering how challenging 200cc mode can get!
