This sword has a special ability called the Night-and-Flame Stance, having you hold down the weapon skill button to ready your sword to cast either an intelligence-based sorcery or faith-based incantation. This also means that this weapon requires 24 intelligence and 24 faith to use.

How to get the Sword of Night and Flame in Elden Ring

To get this weapon, travel north to the early-game region, Liurnia of the Lakes, and enter the dangerous Caria Manor locale. Once inside, make your way through the rather straightforward layout until the lower level Site of Grace is unlocked, which will serve as a staging point for finding the sword. Upon exiting this room, the player will emerge atop the castle ramparts and should carefully continue along the walls, dodging or engaging the spectral warriors that will appear and ambush from the front and rear.

When you reach the first stone tower, turn left. Follow that path until you reach the third stone tower. Then, look at the rooftop below and jump towards it. Jump down another rooftop and there’s an opening with a ladder you can descend. Finally, open the chest to get the Sword of Night and Flame. From here, you can either unlock the door or fast travel back to the Site of Grace at the second floor of the chapel.
