Lacking detachable controllers, players may be wondering if there is any way to play Nintendo Switch Sports on the Nintendo Switch Lite. Here’s if the game is compatible with the handheld and tabletop model of the popular console.

Can Nintendo Switch Sports Be Played on Nintendo Switch Lite?

As mentioned above, Nintendo Switch Sports requires players to use the Joy-Con controllers in some very unique ways, and lacking detachable controllers, playing the game on a Nintendo Switch Lite isn’t exactly smooth sailing, but it is possible nonetheless.

To play Nintendo Switch Sports on a Nintendo Switch Lite, you will need to purchase separate Joy-Con controllers, as they are all compatible with the handheld console. Even like this, however, playing Nintendo Switch Sports on the Lite is far from being optimal, as you will be limited by the very small screen size, which makes it difficult to understand what is going on in the game, considering it is recommended to stay away from the screen to play each sport the way they are meant to.

So, Nintendo Switch Sports is technically playable on Nintendo Switch Lite, but it is far from being a very good idea. If you truly want to enjoy the next evolution of the Nintendo’s sports series, you have no other choice than to get a regular Nintendo Switch model that can use the dock to display games on a bigger screen.
