The “Application has Hung” and the “Application has encountered an unrecoverable Error” are two of the new errors that Fortnite players encountered on July 7th, 2022. To fix the issue, you can update Fortnite to the latest version as the devs released a maintenance patch on July 8th that fixed the majority of the issues.

While the error was encountered by only a smaller portion of the Fortnite community and not all—we found that “Application has Hung” or the “Application has encountered an unrecoverable Error” had something to do with the game’s new cheat engine.
Now, of course, we are not game devs, and we cannot explain the exact reason for the error. We do recommend you wait till the issue is fixed from the Epic Games’ end. Since it is a bug from the developers’ end, basic troubleshooting like updating game drivers, re-downloading the game, and other such methods won’t help.
