Fast And Furious Getting Yet Another Mobile Game

This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

The trend of tying in games with upcoming movies is showing no signs of slowing down (quite literally some might say in this case) as mobile game publisher Kabam has once again partnered with Universal Pictures to create a mobile game which ties into the long-running Fast and Furious series.

Many mobile gamers might recognize Kabam as the same publisher behind the previous Fast and Furious mobile game, aptly titled Fast and Furious 6: The Game, which was based off the movie of the same name and which launched alongside the film back in May. The new Fast and Furious mobile game doesn’t have an official title yet but it will serve as a tie-in to the upcoming Fast and Furious 7 film which is set to be released in theaters on July 11, 2014. Considering the previous game’s success, garnering roughly 33 million downloads since its launch, it isn’t too surprising to see Kabam going at it again.

In a press release that was sent out to announce the upcoming mobile game, Kabam studio president Andrew Sheppard expressed his excitement and wasn’t afraid to link the previous game’s success directly with the popularity of the Fast and Furious film series: “The Fast and Furious franchise is a global phenomenon that continues to evolve as the scale of the films grow bigger with each new release. Kabam is proud to continue to collaborate with Universal on such a fun and mass-appeal franchise to develop a new mobile game that progresses with the same ambition of the series.”
