One of the main story branches you can follow in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is “Path of Legends,” which involves you hunting exotic flora while taking down the legendary Titan Pokémon. Today, we’re here to answer the question: Can you capture Titan Pokémon after defeating them in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
Is it Possible to Capture Titan Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet?
Once you meet him properly at Uva Academy, Arven will ask for your help regarding the Herba Mystica, a species of plants that supposedly have great healing effects. He knows the general locations of where they are, but each one is guarded by a dangerous threat known as a Titan Pokémon.
Titan Pokémon are normal Pokémon species, only they’ve grown to colossal sizes, most likely due to a diet of the Herba Mystica. Once you get closer to a known location of a Herba Mystica, you’ll most likely see the Titan Pokémon right away—you can’t miss them!
Once you approach a Titan Pokémon, a cutscene will play, and you’ll automatically get into a battle with them. Although Titan Pokémon are essentially bigger versions of normal Pokémon you can encounter, they’re packing higher stats, so you have got to be careful.
When you first encounter one, you’ll take it on solo, but once it gets low on HP, it’ll run away. You have to chase it down, at which point Arven usually shows up and joins you in battle to help you out.

Since the Titan Pokémon are storyline related, this unfortunately means that you cannot catch Titan Pokémon. You can’t use a Poké Ball during battle, and once you knock them out, they’re gone for good. Don’t worry though, because all the Titan Pokémon are just giant versions of Pokémon you can encounter normally.
