There’s a lot to like about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, one of which is the multiplayer feature that allows players to explore the vast world of Paldea with friends. Players can scour the regions, hunt Pokémons together and even team up to defeat several Tera Raids that occur throughout Paldea.
With so much to do with friends, it’ll leave one wondering about their game progression. So in this article, we’ll be covering just that by answering the question, can you progress story while playing multiplayer? – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.
Can You Progress Story While Playing Multiplayer? – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
To put the answer short, it’s uncertain right now. They’ve been a ton of trailers leading up to the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet which showed that players can do other activities with friends but at the same time do not directly say if these activities were story beats.
For instance, it’s unsure if players can be in another player’s world and battle the Bug-type Gym Leader once they leave the academy or even when they want to learn about the various Titan Pokémon across Paldea.
In the Union Circle, also often called the multiplayer session, players can participate in Pokémon battles, Tera Raids, trade stuff with friends or even explore another player’s world and try to capture some of the wild Pokémon they find while they’re out exploring.
And while we don’t know just how far out we can explore away from the host player, players are able to visit different environments with friends. And connection matters a lot when playing multiplayer, and this can be a big factor when it comes to other players.
Communication with friends is very necessary for a lot of multiplayer games and it’s the same thing with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. So while it’s unconfirmed whether you can progress the story while playing multiplayer in the game, we advise that players actually know what they want to do and how they plan on playing together.
