Technical Machines, or TMs, are data discs that can bestow new moves upon your Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. TMs are a quick and easy way to hone your battle strategies, as you don’t need to grind out levels to learn certain moves. Today, we’ll show you how to get Facade (TM025) in Scarlet & Violet.
Getting Facade (TM025) in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
TM025 teaches the Normal-type physical move Facade, which attacks with a base power of 70 and 100 accuracy. If the user is poisoned, burned, or paralyzed, the move’s attack power is doubled.
Before you can craft TM025 at a TM Machine, you’ll need to unlock it first. To unlock TM025 Facade, you’ll need to defeat the Gym Leader of Medali, Larry. Like the other Gyms, you’ll need to pass the Gym Test before you can challenge him to a battle.
We hope you’re hungry, as this Gym Test is all about the city’s favorite dish. Your objective is to head over to the local restaurant, Treasure Eatery, and order the secret menu item. Only then you be able to challenge Larry!
Head to the Gym to register, and you’ll be given your first clue. There are three other Trainers taking the test as well, and if you can best them in battle, you’ll earn another clue.
The other Trainers are pretty easy to find, as they’re all around Medali, and their text box is yellow to differentiate them from normal NPCs. Defeat them all, and you’ll have the following clues:
- “Fire Blast” – Scribbled on a note behind the gate in the theater area.
- “Listen to the blue bird Pokémon” – The Squakabilly shouts, “Meedyum”.
- “Odd one out at the ice cream stand” – The ice cream stand by the little girl Trainer sells Rice Balls.
Go inside Treasure Eatery, and before you place your order, go all the way to the back and talk to the suspicious office worker for your final clue, which is lemon seasoning.
Now you’re ready to order! Go back towards the entrance and talk to the server, then choose the following answers:
- Grilled rice balls
- Medium serving
- Extra crispy, Fire Blast style
- Lemon
You’ll pass the test, and now you can challenge Larry. As you can probably guess, he’s got three Normal-type Pokémon (Komala, Dundunsparce, Staraptor) so bring a Fighting-type Pokémon if you can.

- 5,000 LP
- Komala Claw x 3
- Tinkatink Hair x 3
- Stantler Hair x 3
