Sims 4 has some excellent career choices in the official game, but it doesn’t cover everything that you may want to do in your Sim life. This is especially the case if you have multiple Sim families and you want them all to have exciting and fulfilling professional accomplishments (and bring in some serious Simoleons in the process).
When you get tired of being a Politician, Gardener, or Engineer, you can count on hundreds of mods to spice up your Sims’ professional lives. Still, such an overwhelming number of choices can make it difficult to find the perfect career, so take a look at our top 5 selection of Sims 4 career and job mods.
Oceanographer
The ocean is the final frontier on Earth, and we can’t imagine a more exciting place to explore (and get paid for it too). This mod was converted from a Sims 2 career, and you will have to work on constantly improving your Handiness, Fishing, and Fitness (because diving is hard).
Start as a Fish Chummer, clean dolphin tanks, become a dive master, and advance so high that you get to bear the title of Hands of Poseidon at $450 per hour. You can get this mod for free here.
Game Developer
If you like playing video games, why not try making them as well? Yes, the job involves a lot of programming, and your Sim will disappear for 8 hours from the lot, but as you progress in this career track, you will see how lucrative it can get.
You will start as a simple intern, but if you show enough creativity, you will get to make games for top-level studios. Who knows, maybe your Sim will be the genius behind Sims 5 that we’re all waiting for. Now, that would be meta! Get the Game Dev career mod for free on this link.
Therapist
If you are that one friend who always listens and gives the best relationship advice, this might be the right career for you—or your Sim, that is. Sitting all day long and listening to other people’s problems while giving meaningful feedback can be draining, but it will bring so much impact to other Sims’ lives and leave you satisfied because you’re making a difference.
This career brings 5 separate paths: Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Life Coach, Social Worker, and Marriage Counselor. Download this free mod here.
YouTuber
Let’s be real for a second here—many of us have our 9-to-5 jobs while popular YouTubers make millions at a fraction of the effort. If you’re feeling at least just a little bit resentful, this free mod is your chance to get vengeance. Make your Sim become the most famous YouTuber by working hard and upgrading your Writing, Charisma, Gaming, Mischief, Comedy, and other skills.
You will have to start as a YouTube Nobody, but as you become better and try your talents in vlogging, gaming, DIY, or as a makeup artist, you will see that follower count go through the roof, and you will become a true celebrity!
Aerospace Engineer
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to understand why we included this mod on our list… or maybe you do… we’re not sure. In any case, how cool is this profession? Sims 4 already has the Rocket Science skill, so you can finally put it to use with this free mod (with some Logic too).
Your Sim will have to do cleaning tasks first, but soon enough, they will have a chance to become a safety inspector or design rockets on the way to becoming the Chief of the Aerospace Branch.
