Baldur’s Gate 3 is still in its early-access phase, and fans around the world can’t wait for the official release planned for August 2023. Considering that the early-access version has been out for more than two years, there are already tons of different mods that make this promising game even more fun.
While we can expect even more mods when the full game gets out, you can already start exploring ways how to expand your in-game experience thanks to our list of top Baldur’s Gate 3 mods. Check them out and read our guide to installing Baldur’s Gate 3 mods if this is your first time.
Arcane Rings
Those who are tired of the same old spells that are available in the official release can get this Patch 7-compatible mod, which brings more than 45 spells tied to special rings. Arcane Rings includes spells like Legions of Frost, Poison Cloud of Confusion, Necrotic Beam, Invisibility, and so many more.
Improved UI
As the name of the mod says, Improved UI brings a much better user interface, and it is, therefore, more practical than interesting. Improved UI allows you to avoid error messages that can make the character creation process a pain and introduces a camera mod, which toggles the interface on and off so you can take better in-game photos.
Basket Full of Equipment
We could argue that one of the greatest aspects of playing a game like Baldur’s Gate is character customization. While the base game gives quite limited options, Basket Full of Equipment (updated for Patch 9) saves the day by adding more than 600 pieces of equipment or armor, which is mostly meant for human-like races.
Many custom pieces of clothing and jewelry are quite elaborate and look stunning, while others allow you to play around with looks that are a bit more NSFW. Besides equipment pieces, this mod comes with a few spells as well, but they’re mostly cosmetic—for example, you can use a spell to pass your character as another race or class.
LvlUp
The current max level in what is available of Baldur’s Gate 3 officially is 4, which is quite limiting. LvlUp mod allows you to take your basic-class character all the way up to level 20 and gives new spells, abilities, or attacks to match that progression.
Tav’s Hair Salon
While Tav’s Hair Salon focuses on only one aspect of character customization, we have included it in our list because it just looks so good. It is compatible with Patch 9 and works for Human, Elf, Half-Elf, Drow, and Tiefling races. There are also a few hairstyles that work for Dwarves.
If you want your character to look unique and modern (it doesn’t work on NPCs), give this mod a go. It is recommended to install Improved UI first.
