Revavroom is one of the brand-new Pokémon added in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Revavroom is basically a sentient car engine that uses its specialized poison to generate energy. It’s a dual-type Steel and Poison-type Pokémon, which gives it some interesting matchups. Today, we’ll show you the best Revavroom counters and weakness in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet!
Countering Revavroom in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
As mentioned, Revavroom is both Steel and Poison-type. Since both of these types are weak to Ground-type moves, Revavroom takes quadruple damage from Ground-type moves!
Needless to say, Ground-type Pokémon are the way to go when fighting regular Revavroom. If you don’t have any Ground-type Pokémon, Revavroom is also weak against Fire-type moves.
One of the best counters for normal Revavrooms is the Paldean Wooper and its evolved form, Clodsire, who is a dual-type Ground and Poison Pokémon. It’s resistant to Revavroom’s Poison-type attacks, and it can hit it hard with its own Ground-type attacks.

Though, you’re probably not here because you’re having trouble with regular Revavrooms, huh? It’s the Team Star specialized Revavrooms that are putting up a fight!
When you storm a Team Star base and complete the horde battle, you’ll face off against the base’s leader. They’ll have a set of powerful Pokémon, and after you finish them all off, you’ll have to face the leader’s Starmobile, which is basically a souped-up Revavroom.
Each leader has their own custom Starmobile. The Starmobiles’ types will change to match their leader, and they’ll also have their own unique abilities and signature moves.
- Giacomo (Dark): Segin Starmobile
- Ability: Intimidate / Signature: Wicked Torque
- Mela (Fire): Schedar Starmobile
- Ability: Speed Boost / Signature: Blazing Torque
- Atticus (Poison): Navi Starmobile
- Ability: Toxic Debris / Signature: Noxious Torque
- Ortega (Fairy): Ruchbah Starmobile
- Ability: Misty Surge / Signature: Magical Torque
- Eri (Fighting): Caph Starmobile
- Ability: Stamina / Signature: Combat Torque
For the Team Star fights, the Starmobiles have only one type, so you might need to change up your approach. Thankfully, Fire and Poison are both still weak to Ground-type moves, so Mela and Atticus are still covered.
For Giacomo, use Fighting, Bug, or Fairy-type moves. For Oretega, use Poison or Steel-type moves. For Eri, use Flying, Psychic, or Fairy-type moves.
If you need a recommendation for these three leaders, Tinkaton is one of the best picks, as it learns both Fairy and Steel-type moves, and it has pretty good stats.
