All New Armor Trims Coming to Minecraft 1.20

One of the new features in Minecraft version 1.20 are Armor Trims, new crafting items that let you customize the appearance of your armor with different designs. There are eleven different patterns in total, and each one can be dyed with ten colors. Today, we’ll show you all new Armor Trims coming to Minecraft 1.20!

Every Armor Trim in Minecraft 1.20

Armor Trims are new items that you can place in armor crafting layouts to give it a custom look. Just put the materials in the crafting grid like usual, but drop in the Smithing Template you wish to use to customize the armor piece.

Smithing Templates cannot be crafted from raw materials—instead, they must be found throughout the world. They spawn in fixed locations, and the designs they grant your armor are themed after their locations.

For example, the Smithing Template found within Bastion Remnants in the Nether give your armor a trim similar to the Piglins. Keep in mind that you can also dye your Armor Trims, so you can even turn your armor black to get the full effect!

You can get your hands on these Smithing Templates right now in the latest Snapshot version of the Java Edition of Minecraft, Snapshot 23w04a. They’ll come into the game proper when version 1.20 officially launches.
