Unlocking and Equipping New Outfits in Fire Emblem Engage

Once you complete Chapter 5: Retaking the Castle, two shopkeepers will request to go back to the Somniel with Alear. They will open two new shops: The Boutique and the Smithy.

Just like Pinet says himself, the Boutique can’t do you any practical favors in combat, but it does allow you to purchase new outfits and accessories for your characters!

To get started, head to the Boutique and talk to Pinet. You’ll be brought to the Boutique menu, where you can buy new outfits and accessories or change what your characters are currently wearing.

Please understand that this only changes the clothes the characters are wearing while in Somniel. During battle, characters will be in their regular combat gear. Besides, you don’t want to head into a fight in a swimsuit, right? Right?

Clothes are divided into two categories: Body and face. In order to purchase a piece of clothing, you’ll need gold and materials. Just like the Armory, you’ll need to provide iron, steel, and silver to get new duds.

Once you’ve purchased an article of clothing, you can switch to the change menu at the Boutqiue to equip your new outfits. You can mix and match different body and face pieces to your liking.

And that’s it—your character is now wearing the selected outfit. As we mentioned, your characters wear their custom outfits only while in Somniel. Once you return to the world map and head into a battle, they’ll temporarily revert to their normal clothes.

If you own the Expansion Pass, you’ll also receive bonus outfits and accessories once you talk to Pinet after downloading the pass.

That concludes our guide on how to unlock and change outfits in Fire Emblem Engage. If you have any other questions or tips, let us know in the comments below!
