How to Copy GoldenEye Key in Bunker 1 Mission – Guide

When a first-person shooter from 1997 gets a new release, you know you’re in for a treat. GoldenEye 007 is going through a real renaissance, and this Nintendo 64 classic keeps on giving, even more than 25 years later.

And what would James Bond be without his international adventures and high-stake missions? One of the missions in the first half of the game takes you to Severnaya, in northern Russia, to explore the surface and the bunker at a suspicious old observatory complex.

One of the crucial parts of this mission is to copy the GoldenEye key and survive (to die another day…). In this guide, you will learn how to do exactly that.

Bunker 1 mission goals

The Bunker 1 mission is all about gathering intel. Your actual objectives will depend on the difficulty level you’re currently on, but copying the GoldenEye key is one of the goals present even at the lowest possible difficulty (Agent).

Besides copying the key and leaving the original, you will also have to photograph the main video screen or more:

• Disrupt surveillance equipment (Secret Agent difficulty)
• Get personnel to activate the computer (00 Agent difficulty)
• Download data from the computer (00 Agent difficulty)

How to copy the GoldenEye key in Bunker 1 mission in GoldenEye 007

To access the room with the GoldenEye key, you will have to make your way through the bunker, eliminating security guards on the go. Eventually, you will reach the command room, where you need to take out armed soldiers (but don’t kill the NPC in a colorful shirt—you will need him).

This is the point where you should take a photo of the main video screen, so open the menu and go to the weapons tab. Then, select the camera and take the required photo by using the fire button.

Now, to the main subject of this guide. To copy the GoldenEye key, stay in the same room, approach the desk with a computer, and grab the GoldenEye key lying next to it (the colorful disc). Access your menu once again and choose the Key Analyzer tool (should be right below your camera). Use the fire button to make it work and wait a bit until it’s done.

The only thing left is to go back to the menu, select the GoldenEye key, and use the fire button again to dispose of it. Kill the remaining guards, leave the bunker, and you’re done with this mission!
