One of the ores you can get is Mythril Ore, which can be found as soon as your world enters Hardmore. Today, we’ll show you how to get Mythril Ore in Terraria!

Getting Mythril Ore in Terraria

Mythril Ore is one of the second potential ores you may stumble upon after your world enters Hardmode. As such, this means you’ll need to defeat Wall of Flesh, as it’s the gateway to entering Hardmode.

As soon as you defeat Wall of Flesh, you’ll get a notification in your chat log that your world has officially entered Hardmode, which adds harder monsters to fight and new materials to collect. Wall of Flesh will also drop a Pwnhammer, so make sure to pick that up.

With the Pwnhammer in hand, head to your local Crimson or Corruption biome and find a Crimson or Demon Altar. The Pwnhammer has enough power to break these altars, so go ahead and smash!

Upon breaking an altar, your world will be blessed with one of the Hardmode ores. You can break multiple altars to get more ore to spawn—there are three types in total, with Mythril being one of them.

Depending on your world, it’ll either be blessed with Mythril or Palladium Ore, which spawns underground just like the previous set of Hardmode ores. Start digging and you should find the new ore eventually.

Note that both Mythril and Palladium are effectively the same, as they create the exact same kind of gear, just with different colors. This means that even if your world doesn’t get Mythril Ore generated in it, you can still progress through the game normally, just with the Palladium gear instead.
