All buffed cards in the Clash Royale April balance update
First, let us start with the good news: Here are all the cards that got buffed in the April balance update.
Mega Minion
- Hit speed increased from 1.6 to 1.5 seconds
Although a .1 sec difference may not seem like much, this change effectively increases the Mega Minion’s overall DPS, which makes it a stronger contender for flying troops.
Spear Goblins
- Range increased from 5 to 5.5 tiles
The Spear Goblins can now support from longer range, which brings them in closer to other support troops in terms of power.
Rascals
- Rascal Boy’s HP increased by 6%
- Rascal Girls’ first hit speed increased from 0.8 to 0.5 seconds
- Spacing increased from 1.9 to 3 tiles
The Rascal Boy can now tank for his team more effectively thanks to the HP increase, whereas the Girls are now closer to other ranged troops in terms of first hit speed.
Additionally, the Rascals now stand further apart from each other, which makes them less susceptible to AoE damage, but still vulnerable to precision attacks.
Furnace
- Spawn speed increased from 6 to 5 seconds
- Lifetime decreased from 33 to 28 seconds
The only building card to get a balance change in this patch, the Furnace now spews out Fire Spirits at a faster rate. To compensate, the lifetime of each Fire Spirit is decreased, but this is still an overall buff for the Furnace.

All nerfed cards in the Clash Royale April balance update
Now, onto the bittersweet news: Here are all the cards that were nerfed in the April balance update.
Archers
- First hit speed slowed down from 0.1 to 0.5 seconds
Archers were a very popular troop card due to them being guaranteed to land a potshot in most encounters, thanks to their incredibly swift first hit. Slowing down their first hit brings them closer to other similar troop cards.
Miner
- Crown Tower damage reduced by 17%
Miners were able to soak up damage and take down Crown Towers too well through attrition, so this makes them a little weaker in one aspect.
Golden Knight
- Dashing Dash’s distance decreased from 6 to 5.5 tiles
The Golden Knight now needs to get a little closer to his targets before he can activate Dashing Dash, which puts him in harm’s way faster.
Phoenix
- Death damage reduced by 10%
Upon death, the Phoenix unleashes a nearby nova that damages enemies, and it also drops an egg that hatches into another Phoenix if left alone. The Phoenix was the superior flying troop choice, and this nerf makes the other flying troops more viable. Be sure to check out our other Clash Royale guides if you are looking to hone your skills!
