Cal Kestis’ journey is far from over, as the threat of the Galactic Empire still looms over him, and now he must do everything to survive. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is here, and the game has launched on all major modern platforms. Our guide compares the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions, if you are still deciding on which platform to go with. So, should you play Jedi Survivor on PS5 or Xbox?
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PS5 and Xbox versions compared
First and foremost, we have to address the recent reviews that have come out for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor; it is very clear that both versions of the game are suffering from slight performance issues.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s performance issues are not glaringly terrible, but they do dampen an otherwise stellar experience. With this in mind, know that you will probably experience a bit of lowered performance on either platform, until address by patches of course.
The other elephant in the room is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s storage size. The game made headlines recently due to its perceived size, and the rumors were confirmed, as the final size of the game runs around 147 GB on PS5, and 134 GB on Xbox Series X|S. If storage space is an important factor to you, this is something to consider.

With all that out of the way, let us get into the core differences between the PS5 and Xbox versions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. You will be pleased to know that the overall census is that both versions of the game are nearly identical in performance and quality, which is both good and bad.
Both the Xbox and PS5 versions of the game can utilize performance mode to get smoother frame rates, but the resolution drops pretty low to the point where the game looks blurry. On the other hand, quality mode makes the game look better, but with wildly varying frame rates.
So, it just comes down to preference at this point. Some players prefer the PS5 version due to the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback, which makes playing action games really satisfying on the fingers. Aside from that, there is nothing wrong with playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on either the Xbox Series X|S or PS5.
In all honesty though, we recommend you wait a bit until the game gets its performance issues patched out. If you are a diehard Star Wars fan and want full immersion, wait for the patches and hotfixes before picking up the game to ensure the smoothest experience.
