How Long Is Amnesia: The Bunker? Answered

Learn all there is to know on how long Amnesia: The Bunker is and can be with this straightforward guide about the game.

I have a complicated relationship with horror games. On one hand, I get easily sucked into the story and all the lore and can’t wait to see what happens next. On the other hand, I hate jump scares, and I live alone, so there’s that.

So, how can I satisfy both of those sides? The answer seems to be by playing games like Amnesia: The Bunker, which make a great compromise between the length of gameplay, a compelling story, and enough horror to last you for days—or should I say, nights. If you’ve been wondering how long Amnesia: The Bunker is, here are all the answers.

The answer to this question, as always, lies in your playstyle. If you’re familiar with this game’s predecessor, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and you don’t have trouble making decisions and strategizing on the go, you probably won’t need more than 4–6 hours for the complete experience.

In case you want to explore every single nook and cranny and everything that the game has to offer, you can expect to stay with Amnesia: The Bunker a little bit longer than that—more likely, up to 10 hours.

The difficulty mode you choose also influences how much time you spend in this horror/survival game. One of my friends did a speedrun on Easy in less than 2 hours, but it was not his first playthrough. Those who pick at least Normal will have their work cut out of them for sure.

All in all, Amnesia: The Bunker is scary and challenging—don’t get me wrong—, but I suppressed my fears and decided to give it a try exactly because I knew it won’t last long. The horrors persist, but so do I (I refuse to comment on why the lamp in my bedroom stays on during the night).
