Hitting home runs in Super Mega Baseball 4

In Super Mega Baseball 4, you can choose between two different styles of batting: contact swinging and power swinging. Contact swinging makes it easier for your batter to hit the ball, but with low power. Power swinging hits the ball with a lot of force, at the expense of accuracy.

Under most circumstances, you should always choose power swinging, as this gives you the most powerful hits. You should not need to use contact swinging unless you are going up against a tricky pitcher who keeps throwing unpredictable balls.

Power swinging is also crucial to getting a home run, as you need a lot of power in your hit. When you are up to bat, you can move the targeting ring with the left stick. As soon as the pitcher throws the ball, hold down the A button to start charging your swing.

As you charge your swing, the power number indicator goes up, the targeting ring shrinks, and a small white circle appears—this is where the center of the ball will be, so you want to move the targeting ring as close to it as possible.

Of course, this is easier said than done, because the pitches come at you really first. Just keep practicing, and eventually, you will be able to hit the ball with a high-powered swing. If you hit the ball with precision accuracy and power of at least 90, there is a good chance it will be a home run!
