One thing that I can say about Final Fantasy 16 is that it’s full of side quests, so you’ll probably need a lot of time to start getting bored with the game. One of the side quests that you can trigger while exploring the Grand Duchy of Rosaria is called False Friends.

How to Complete the False Friends Quest in Final Fantasy 16
You can start this quest by talking to Brennan the Sellsword in Martha’s Rest close to Bloodaxe Barracks and The Fallen Gate. If you can’t find Brennan, you may need to progress further in the story and start the Holding On main quest first.
The goal of the quest is to find Norreis, an unmasked Bearer who ran away. After your conversation with Brennan, you should head over the bridge. On the second wooden bridge on your way, stop and talk to the Off-Duty Sellsword, who will point you to the marshes where he recently spotted Norreis.
Follow the road ahead until you get to the exploration area in the marshes. Close to some Black Blood sparkling on the ground, you can find a lamp that’s been left in the field. Retrieve it and head for a wooden cottage nearby.
You will find Norreis standing close to the river. After talking to him, you will need to go back to Martha’s Rest to talk to Brennan about your discovery and complete the quest. You can run there or travel to the nearby Obelisk.
Upon completion of False Friends, you will receive:
- 20 EXP
- 100 Ability Points
- 10 Magicked Ash
- 1 Meteorite
