As mentioned earlier, Bloodless is one of the status effects in Baldur’s Gate 3 that, when contracted, applies a debuff to the player character, decreasing the following stats by one point:

  • Attack Rolls
  • Saving Throws
  • Ability Checks

We have the answer if you are wondering how you contract the Bloodless status. When you recruit Astarion and sleep in your camp, you trigger a sort of special event where you can find Astarion sneaking around.

Interacting with Astarion, you can let him drink your blood or ensure he never tries to drink your blood again. If you let him drink your blood, you will contract the Bloodless status effect, whereas Astarion will get the “Happy” status effect that increases Attack Rolls, Saving Throws, and Ability Checks by +1.
