While the entire world is highly anticipating the release of AR mobile game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, it’s actually a different Harry Potter-themed game that we will receive before that. No complaints here, as I’m sure I’m not the only fan of JK Rowlin’s series.
The game in question is Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery and it seems to be pretty impressive by all means. And we have all the details you need to know right here!
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is a mobile RPG that seems to be taking quite a bit of inspiration from the Bully videogame created by Rockstar. Of course, it will most likely be a much more family-friendly approach to the whole thing, but overall it appears that it will follow similar mechanics.
In other words, you will get to create your own wizard or witch wannabe, select a pet to be your companion at Hogwarts, join a house and learn everything there is to be learned about magic. According to the details released by Jam City, the game’s developers, you will get to learn spells, make friends and rivals and test your skills against them.
An interesting surprise comes from the announcement that the choices you make in the game will influence the storyline, meaning that it’s up for you to decide who you befriend and who you turn into a rival, with either choice having a direct effect over the game. This is pretty cool, actually!
And since it will be Hogwarts you will be joining, you should be ready to meet some familiar faces! We know for sure that you will meet the likes of Hagrid, Professor Snape or Professor McGonagall, but not Harry Potter himself since the game takes part in the time between his birth and his joining at Hogwarts.
I do believe that you will actually get to meet even more familiar faces since the image released by the game’s developers shows Dumbledore, while other reports claim that we’ll also meet Nymphadora Tonks and Bill Weasley as students.
The trailer itself is really good and, even though it only shows a glimpse at actual gameplay, it’s worth watching and drooling over:
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is expected to launch this Spring for both Android and iOS. We’re waiting!
