You can see what resources can be gathered in a particular area, planet, or moon, by using your scanner. The scanner will show the name of each resource as it is shown below, unabbreviated. One important part of what makes Starfield so engaging is the way the creators have balanced real-world resources with sci-fi. Don’t worry, though, you don’t need even a basic understanding of our periodic table as you will learn as you explore and discover more elements and resources.

The resources you have collected can be used to craft various items at any Workbench, Lab, or Station found in the Lodge basement. Start a Research Project which is divided into five types, and find out more about the project including what you need to gather and craft. Once the research project has been completed you can craft the new researched item at the correct Starfield workbench any time.
