Fishing Strike is a highly addicting experience just for the ridiculousness of taking down fish using RPG-styled skills and its in-depth fishing system. We’ll show you how to master it all in our Fishing Strike cheats, tips and tricks strategy guide!

Watch your line tension!

Keep a close eye on your line’s tension gauge! If it fills up all the way, your line will break and the fish will get away. You don’t really need to worry about it with the small fry, but when you’re taking on the legendary beasts of the ocean you’ll need proper tension management to reel ’em in!

First off, don’t wait until your tension is almost full to stop reeling! It’s important to remember that fish will immediately attempt to escape once you stop reeling – if they stay offscreen for too long, you’ll lose them! Waiting until your gauge is almost full to stop and relax is more than enough time for the fish to make a beeline for it.

Instead, try to time your reels in small bursts. On your initial reel, you can hold it down until the gauge gets about halfway full. After that, you can let go for a bit to recover, then hold down to still keep the fish within your sights.

Take advantage of skills!

Your anglers’ skills can do more than just wear down the fish! Some anglers have more utility-type skills.

For example, your starting angler causes a whirlpool that launches fish into the air. It doesn’t deal much damage, but you can use this as a breather if your tension is getting out of hand, and it also sets up the fish for a free stun attack (tap the reel button as soon as they land back in the water).

While the rarer anglers increase your fishing power, it’s more important to know what their skills do. Having anglers with a variety of the skills is the key to taking down the harder fish!

Send your fish to your aquarium!

NEVER sell your fish right away! Every single type of fish can be stored in your aquarium where they’ll grow over time. The more a fish grows, the more gold you’ll get for selling it. Because of this is it’s always best to store your fish first and let them hit max growth before selling them.

On top of that, if you have a rare or legendary fish, letting them grow all the way will reward you with an angler chest, where you can get angler licenses to level up your favorite anglers!

Of course, if you’re running out of room in your tanks, then feel free to sell off some fish. Always be rotating out your fish so that you don’t miss out on any coins!

Check in with your Fish Trap!

On the world map, you can check out your Fish Trap. This trap will automatically catch fish for you over time, so be sure to check back every now and then to see if you’ve caught anything. By default it’s loaded with Basic Bait which can only catch common fish.

You can purchase better bait in the shop with gems, and the best bait (Cut Bait) has a chance to catch legendary fish!

Deck out your boat!

The boat you choose on your fishing trip contributes to your overall fishing power. On top of that, boats are the one factor that you can upgrade without having licenses or anything, so don’t forget to save some gold to upgrade them.

The rarer boats sometimes have bonuses on them, like increased experience points and more. When certain boats hit a specific level, you can choose an “option” for them. An option is essentially another passive bonus, like increased swipe damage, more exp, and so forth. They’re all great but pick the one that matches your playstyle!

Replay older levels!

You can revisit older levels to catch fish you’ve missed out on or simply to catch them again. Once you’ve caught all possible fish on a level, you can catch them again to increase their rarity and worth. In addition to that, you’ll earn an angler chest for your hard work. It’s never a waste to revisit older levels and catch the same fish again!
