And now it’s back as a mobile exclusive. It’s shrugged off its 2D platforming roots and has traded up for strategy RPG, and it’s all the better for it.

Visually, it’s all very familiar though. You’ll still think you’re watching an anime TV show or movie while playing it – in a good way.

But while the visuals will draw you in, the combat is the reason you’ll stay. This is partially down to the intuitive touch controls, which let you swipe to move your party around the battlefield.

It’s an absolute joy to watch, with your units pulling off slick and action-packed moves to decimate hordes of enemies.

There are over 70 different heroes to collect, which range from tanks to mages, support, assault, and rangers. There’s a type of unit for everyone here.

And you can increase all of their power and customise them to suit your own style too. That way, you can fight exactly as you wish to.

Picking the best combination is a huge part of the challenge too, and you’ll likely want to adapt to the situation at hand. The variety of units allows you to do just that.

There’s a single player campaign to fight your way through, which features an original storyline. Alternatively, you can battle other players in PvP.

Matchmaking will get you into a battle super quickly too, and there are a range of modes to play through depending on your mood.

So head on over to the App Store, Google Play, or your PC (via BlueStacks) right now through this link and grab GrandChase now. It’s free, so you’ve really got nothing to lose by checking it out.
