If you like simulation games, then these Ship Sim 2019 tips and cheats we will share with you are going to make for a very smooth sail and overall a very relaxing simulation game atmosphere.
Have you ever dreamed of becoming a famous ship captain, or simply enjoying the experience of a huge and powerful machine that could carry you across the Mediterranean Sea? Well, this game will deliver just that!
In order to enjoy the pure and simple experience of the game you will have to take things slow, one step at a time. So, these Ship Sim 2019 tips and tricks we are going to share will walk you through everything that you need to know!
So, without further ado, let’s dive right into the Ship Sim 2019 tips and tricks!
First and foremost: adjust the settings!
If you are used to playing simulation games you might already have a preferred style of playing and some certain controls that you find work the best for you. But if you are new to this type of games, you might want to try them all before you settle with one.
In the settings menu, you can choose between a couple of types of controls: on screen controls, a ship steering wheel and off screen by tilting your device. I personally prefer the latter, as I find the experience much more engaging by actually having to tilt my phone instead of tapping.
This is going to be the very first adjustment you will have to do towards achieving the ultimate simulation experience. If you are trying something and are not completely happy with it and you consider the other option to work better, don’t be afraid to switch back!
Practice your controls
On the left side of the screen you have a display bar for your throttle. When you slide it forward it’s going to allow the ship to move forward. When you drag it backwards, it’s going to allow you to move in reverse with the ship.
Try practicing this a lot because in certain situations you will need to park the ship according to some guidelines, so you will need to be very wary of your controls and what you can and can not do.
It’s overall a pretty easy and enjoyable experience, so take your time, because practice makes perfect!
The measurement units?
Well, you might already have noticed that you can choose between 3 different measurement units: knots, kmph and mph. The knots are what are used in ship and naval language basically and if you are not familiar with that, then you could choose a more familiar unit, such as miles per hour (mph) or kilometers per hour (kmph).
If you are curious to try a full ship experience, then go with the knots, and if you want to learn the equivalent in your measurement unit, then switch out between the units and learn them! (Unless you want to quickly Google a “knots to km” or something like that).
Choose a good home port
You can choose between several starting points, which are marked as ports. They will determine your starting mission and the direction where you will be headed next. The starting ports are:
– Malaga
– Valencia
– Alicante
– Algiers
– Barcelona
– Palma
– Tunis
– Palermo
– Tripoli
– Bari
– Nice
– Venice
– Rome
– Split
– Athens
– Crete
– Istanbul
– Larnaca
– Beirut
– Tel Aviv
– Alexandria
What you need to keep an eye out for regarding these home ports is how many surrounding ports they got. It’s good to start in a port which has quite a lot of surrounding ports, because you will not have to do really really long transportation routes.
I suggest starting either in one of the left ports (Alicante, Valencia, Algiers, Barcelona, Palma, Tunis) or in one of the right ones (Beirut, Larnaca, Tel Aviv, Crete, Alexandria, Athens). As they are pretty close together, you will have quite a nice and easy start.
Try out different ship types
There are 3 types of ships in the game:
– Passenger Ship: used to transport people
– Cargo Ship: used to transport big crates full of stuff
– Oil Tanker Ship: used to transport oil
Each one of them feels different in regards to the controls, even if they are the same. The passenger ship might seem (because it actually is!) lighter than the cargo ship, and you’ll find it easier to take turns and might be more fun!
Either way, you should try them out and see which one suits your style more! After all, you are the captain!
Pick up good rewarding jobs (missions)
The goal of the game is to carry out cargo from point A to point B. You can pick between several missions and you will be rewarded with money, but be careful! The most rewarding missions cost more fuel, so you need to make sure that you have plenty to be able to carry it out.
The best missions in my opinion are the ones that you don’t have to go out of your way to carry out, and where the fuel consumption can be limited. Let’s put it like this: if a job gives you more money, it’s also (most of the time at least) going to cost more fuel to complete as it will need you to travel further.
If you pick a less rewarding job, you will not have to travel far, and you can complete it faster with a lower fuel cost. By the time you would complete the more rewarding mission, you could complete 2 of the less rewarding ones. Makes sense?
Now it’s entirely up to you how you choose to complete them! I would definitely go for a long ride, but only if I have the means necessary (a.k.a. the money)! So don’t dismiss the lesser jobs, they are good too!
Switch the viewpoint
If you want to truly experience the captain vibes you can go inside the ship and use a first person viewpoint! This is great if you want to play this way, but if you don’t like seeing too much motion and rather enjoy a third person point of view, then switch it out!
I find it easier to control the ship from a third person point of view, but it’s more challenging and dynamic from a first person point of view. So you do you and try everything out!
Visit the special points!
There are several special points you will notice across the sea. They are there to help you fill out your missions and reach your destination safely. Always try to visit them whenever possible, even if it’s just to refill your fuel, because you never know when you might need that extra 1 liter of fuel.
Adjust your speed
I suggest not always going full speed ahead, as you might have a harder time stopping in time and performing certain moves. I prefer always keeping a somewhat balanced speed which allows me to take turns with ease and not waste fuel trying to re-do or re-enter a point that I have missed because of the speed.
