The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening May Feature Multiplayer Mode

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Last week, Nintendo announced a The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake, which will allow all Nintendo Switch owners to enjoy the game originally released on GameBoy back in 1993. While it seems like the game will be a straight remake, there’s the chance that something new may be included in it.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening listing on the official Nintendo website seems to suggest that a multiplayer mode may be in, as the number of players has yet to be determined, which is definitely weird for a game that has been originally released as a single player experience.

Very little is currently known about The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. The remake will retain the original’s top-down perspective of the original game, which will also make it the first 2D Zelda game to be released on the Nintendo Switch.

Like in the original, players will have to explore the mysterious Koholint Island, retrieve the eight magical instruments to wake the Wind Fish and return to Hyrule.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening releases on Nintendo Switch later this year.
