So if you want to know which ones are worth upgrading fast, I’ll give you a quick answer: all of them! As for which you can use later on to carry you through other in game instances, here’s where things get a little bit more complicated. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

So let’s not waste another second and dive right into our El Chronicle best heroes in the game!

Dean

He is the starting hero, and he is quite equilibrated in terms of stats. He will carry you a long way through the game, so make all the upgrades available. Dean is a good hero that can keep on being good even later on, given that he has all the upgrades available.

His skills allow him to get a barrier buff, which absorb part of the damage dealt to him. This is great especially with combined with his passive traits which make Dean even more tanky than he already is.

Jade

Jade is a powerful Assassin which can inflict a lot of damage to the enemies. She relies on Physical Attack so you need to carefully pick and craft some really good gears, because later on she will be a great asset.

Jade can be unlocked by clearing New Desert Story 13, so make sure you try and acquire her as soon as possible, because it will be a for the best of the team.

Gwen

She is my favorite one, another Assassin specialized in Physical Attack, but her damage is quite insane, especially if you decide to main her. Her kit is very powerful as it relies solely on damage, so build her around that and you got yourself a strong DPS.

In order to be able to connect with Gwen, you will need to clear Eluka Desert Tyke Island’s best archer, so I suggest rushing your quest progress and getting there, as she will make a really big difference once added to the team.

Jaegal Woon

He will be acquired fairly quickly along with Dean, so you can start working on him very early on in the game. He can debuff the enemy’s defense, so when combined with other attackers (when on the same team), they can shred through the enemy really fast.

Try to always keep his skills somewhat maxed out, as well as his gear equipment. Also, all the other possible upgrades should be done quickly on him, like you would on Dean.

Lily

She can hide and perform stealth attacks, as well as good damage with them. To obtain Lily you will need to clear Crimson Temple Chapter 7, so it will come eventually.

She works well with Jaegal Woon who can decrease the target’s defense, since she can be allowed to inflict much more damage then. She is good, but focus first on upgrading Gwen if you manage to get Gwen before Lily.

Aaren

This little fairy girl is a supporter who can be obtained from clearing Haunted Forest Story 9. She will dance and perform to support her allies, and her skills will heal and buff the defenses of all of her team mates.

She is the ultimate support hero, not only for the heal but also because of the Shield she can provide, and the Attack damage and Attack Speed buffs as well. All in all, if you still have Claire, swap her out for Aaren as soon as you can do so.

Lee Jiyeon

Another good supporter who mostly relies on healing the allies. She is almost as powerful as Aaren, but it all depends on how your team is formed. I like Lee Jiyeon, as she can also decrease the enemy’s defense.

She’s a support who works well in pretty much any team, mainly because of the heals, but also because of the defense boost. If you have a good tank like Dean on the team, she will synergize well with him.

Yeonhwa

She is a Specialist who can inflict damage (quite a lot) to the enemy and at the same time boost the allies’ DEF and put up a shield. She can provide a few good buffs for the team, such as increased DEF and reduced damage taken from basic attacks, as well as a little heal.

She can also stun the enemy and decrease their movement speed with her skills, so she can be a great addition to any team that needs both damage and support.

Scarlett

Another cute little Specialist who inflicts Magic Damage, she can cast cold spells which freeze the enemy. While she provides good CC (crowd control) to the team, she will also deal quite a lot of damage.

She can shield the allies, increasing their defense and healing them, while also being able to buff them in many other ways. She’s overall a very good addition to any team pretty much. To unlock Scarlett you will need to clear the Pilgrim Valley Story 12 first.

To make a good team I suggest using one or more of the heroes listed above, as when you will increase their stats they will definitely prove to be way better than you might’ve expected!

Another good team you could make is with Richard, Jade, Lee Jiyeon, Yeonhwa and Aaren. They can make for quite a fun and exciting team, especially given how Aaren just gives an added cuteness bonus to any team! Thus being said, this would conclude our El Chronicle best heroes list! If you have other suggestions, you should leave them down in the comments below to be shared with everybody as we would love to learn what other heroes you like and have found powerful!
