SEGA’s mobile RPG that brings the FotNS series to our mobile phones – and does so flawlessly – challenges us to collect a bunch of heroes through a gacha system. Some people, especially those who are not happy with what they draw early on, consider a reroll and that’s what we’re going to talk about in today’s game.
In other words, I will tell you how to reroll in Fist of the North Star: Legends ReVIVE and then share my opinion if this is something worth it.
You probably know already what a reroll is in a gacha game, since this is why you are here, but in case you don’t, here’s what it is: Rerolling is starting over again and again in hopes of getting a better hero rewarded early on by the gatcha system.
How to reroll in FoTN: Legends Revive?
As game developers aren’t necessary fans of this process, they usually make it pretty difficult for you to start over and reroll for better characters. In this game’s case, it’s really time consuming.
You have two options: one is faster, but offers you fewer options and one gives you more than 10 draws but it takes a long time. Let’s start with the first:
1. The easiest way for you to reroll is to get to the end of the First chapter in the Story mode. Until you finish it, by collecting all the free draws and rewards, you will probably have something like 5 gacha pulls from the store – maybe more.
Early on, you are guaranteed to get a fighter every 3 pulls, so you will probably receive 2. Not a lot to play with, but this is the fastest way to do it.
If you are not satisfied with what you’ve got, quit the game, uninstall it, reinstall it and start over. Rinse and repeat until you are happy.
2. The second way to do it – and the one that gives you more options, is to complete chapter 3. When you do so, you receive 10 gacha pull tickets, increasing your chances of getting better heroes simply because you have more pulls.
You will also add to these pulls all the rewards collected along the way, which will probably allow you to get 25+ pulls at this time. And with so many of them, you will surely have better odds at drawing a character you like.
The problem is that completing the third chapter requires a lot of time and resetting at that point is tricky: do you really have that much time to spend just to get a better hero?
So… is it worth it to reroll in Fist of the North Star?
I am always one who is generally against rerolling as it takes away the randomness of the game and its overall fun factor. But in some games, where doing this is easier and only takes a few minutes, it’s definitely worth trying by those who are very competitive.
However, in the case of FotNS for mobile, I don’t really think that it’s worth it, and I will tell you why:
First, in order to get the best chances from more draws, you will have to complete the game all the way to the end of chapter 3. Even if you go with auto mode and quick taps, we’re still talking about at least around 45 minutes spent each time.
Second, whenever you uninstall the game and reinstall it, you have to download the huge early update of close to 1GB. That takes time and you don’t have much to do while the download is going… Plus, you’re putting extra pressure on the game’s servers and that makes no sense.
Third and most important is the fact that when you complete the 3rd chapter, you have already gathered a ton of rewards along the way, plus the free 10 pulls you get as an added reward.
This means, as I said earlier, that you’re getting 25+ pulls (by spending gems, as well as other ticekts gained along the way). That’s a lot of pulls and you’ll get a ton of heroes to really work well with.
In my case, at that point, I had 13 heroes unlocked, out of which 7 where SR. Sure, I didn’t get the UR characters (Thouzer and Ken-oh), but I checked their requirements and apparently they’re not even in the game yet!
If you tap the “How to get” button next to their portraits, it says “Please wait to be added by an update”. And even after they are added, I am sure that it won’t be easy to draw them through these pulls.
So what I am saying is that you will most likely have enough SRs to choose from and create a really solid team. No need to waste time starting over just to get one of the Characters you consider to be better.
But that’s just my opinion – you do know now how to reroll in FotNS: Legends ReVIVE and it’s up for you to decide if it’s worth doing or not.
