DOOM And DOOM II Performance Update Now Live On Nintendo Switch

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

DOOM And DOOM II, the first two entries in the first-person shooter series developed by Bethesda, have been released on Nintendo Switch a few months back. While the game didn’t run too badly on the console, there were a few issues that prevented them from being perfect ports.

Some of the annoyances have been fixed a little while back, with the removal of a forced Bethesda.net login, but some others persisted, like lighting and performance issues.

Thankfully, this is no more, as a new update has been released for both games, fixing the remaining issues.

The new DOOM And DOOM II update brings audio, lighting and performance improvements. Full update notes have yet to be shared, but both games didn’t need much fixing outside of these issues, so the ports should be pretty much perfect now.

DOOM, DOOM II, 2016’s DOOM and the upcoming DOOM Eternal aren’t going to be the only DOOM games on the Nintendo Switch. A few days ago, DOOM 64 has been rated in Australia, hinting at a future release on Nintendo Switch and, possibly, other formats.

A Nintendo Switch release for the game would make a lot of sense, considering it has been originally released on a Nintendo console.

DOOM and DOOM II are now available on Nintendo Switch as well as on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS and Android.
