In today’s article we are going to cover all of the Prison Planet tips and cheats to help you get around this beautiful pixel game and learn how to properly deal with all the lock downs, new prisoners and much more.
So if you are not yet sure how this game works, we are going to cover everything, from the basics to slightly more advanced stuff and teach you how to build the best pixel prison in the galaxy! If you love pixel art as much as I do, then you will most certainly have a blast playing this game and let your creativity free when decorating this place.
So without further ado, let’s dive right into the Prison Planet tips and tricks right here below and learn how to put together the best prison in the whole galaxy!
Bring in more prisoners
The best way to make more money in the prison is to bring in more prisoners. This can be done in the first option to the right side which has a human figure and a plus sign on it. There, you will see a list of possible inmates that you can bring on on the left side. Sometimes you will be able to recruit one, two, three or more!
Below each one of them you will see how much money they will bring in per day, so I suggest that you always try to bring in the most profitable prisoners. If you have recruited some prisoners which are not really worth keeping in for the profits, then you can send them to the Holding Cell (which we will detail more about below) where they will make no profit, but you can bring in new ones in their place.
Either way, I suggest that you always try to pick the best prisoners by selecting the ones which bring the most money per day.
Learn how lock down works!
The lock down is basically you having to secure the prisoners in the cell blocks with the lasers. This means that your prisoners cannot touch the lasers, otherwise they will die. (and transferred to the cemetery where they can be revived later on)
Always track down the movement of the prisoners and try to contain them in areas that are as small as possible to reach the level goal. (as cruel as that sounds, it’s better for the game level)
My game tips here: I suggest that you always try to wait and see how they are moving, because it is better when you are doing this with 0 casualties. Try observing their movement, and when it is safe to set the lasers, do it ASAP! Set the lasers as soon as the prisoners walk away.
Build more Cell Blocks
The Cell Blocks are where you will hold the prisoners, so I suggest that you try to build as many as possible to hold in more prisoners. You can either build bigger Cell Blocks, or smaller ones, but keep in mind that they both have their added pros and cons.
Smaller cell blocks will need less lasers to keep the prisoners in, while they are definitely more difficult to set the lasers in since the space is so incredibly crowded that the prisoners can literally walk in a couple of seconds from one side to the other.
Bigger cell blocks can store more prisoners, are easier to laser up (or to set the lasers in) and they will be more forgiving when it comes to that, but they will also use up more lasers possibly if you are not doing it carefully.
Shake up the prisoners!
To make things easier for you when you are setting up a lock down, you will see in the bottom right corner of the screen a small button. Tap on that and you will see that the prisoners’ position will get reset! Try doing this to help you set the prisons up and use less lasers in the process.
I suggest that you do this any number of times until they are all aligned in such a way that makes it easier for you to lock them up with fewer lasers. It’s no limit to this, so just do it as many times as you feel necessary.
Build many Research facilities and start researching
The more Research facilities you will build, the faster it will be to research future developments. I suggest that as soon as you unlock them, you start building at least 3 of them so that you will be set to success.
There are several fields that you can research once you tap on the Research facility, and you can select which one you want to proceed with at start. I suggest that you start by researching fields which take just a few minutes, because during the time that you spend in game you will want to start researching as many things as possible.
Always make sure that you are researching something, because later on this process will take hours, so it’s good to use every single minute for researching a field.
Watch an ad to complete a big research for free!
Now this is something extremely helpful, but you need to be careful because the advertisement will have a 4 hours cooldown! So if you choose to watch an ad to instantly complete a research, I suggest that you do it with a 8 hour research or any research which will take several hours!
It’s really the best use you can make out of this, because if you waste it on a 12 minute research, that’s what it is – wasted! So don’t do it because there is really no big benefit to it. It’s better to just wait out the few minute long researches and use this for the ones which are really long.
Time Travel is a thing? Watch an ad to find out!
If you are bored waiting to make money and pass the days, then you can choose to time travel into the future! What? That’s exactly the option that you want when you have just spent all your money on building!
All you have to do to activate the time travel is head on to the Dollar sign in the bottom right corner of the screen, on tap on the play button in the upper middle of the screen. There, you will see the Time Travel option (first option).
Tap on that and an ad will start playing, which will speed up the in game timer by doubling it! You will see that the play button in the top will turn into a fast forward one, so make sure that it is activated! This will have a 10 minute cooldown, so if you want to benefit from this again, you will have to wait 10 minutes and then watch an ad to activate it again!
Link your account and unlock a new alien for free!
Want a new alien form for free? Then all that you have to do is link your account to the game and you will get it instantly! Head on to the Settings menu in the right side of the screen, and there you will see the Facebook logo up on top.
Connect the game to your Facebook account and sign in, and you will receive a free alien! That is, if you have a Facebook account! If you do, it’s definitely worth to do it because you won’t have to research in order to get that new alien life form!
Build more facilities
It’s always important to make sure that you have all the facilities you need running smoothly and bringing you enough profits. There are several facilities in the game, and if you want to unlock more, you will have to start researching for them.
For the early stages of the game, I suggest that you start by building a lot of Vaults, because those will increase the amount of cash you can store in, and that means that when you go offline, the cash will store up, up to a higher amount.
So for one, make sure that you build plenty of Vaults. Secondly, the Research Labs that I have mentioned are mandatory. The more, the better. Try to build at least 5 and if you can build more after, build!
Power Stations are important to bring in Energy, which is needed for pretty much everything. So don’t neglect them. Now the Life Support stations are needed to store in more inmates, just as well as the Water Tanks.
At start I don’t think it’s necessary to have a ton of Holding Cells, and a single one will suffice, but if you want a second one, it’s not a bad thing to have.
All about upgrading your laser
The laser sent out by your drone is one of the most important features you need to focus on. The more lasers you have, the easier and better it is for you to make upgrades and lock down the prisoners. There are two main options which let you upgrade your laser:
– More Lasers: this will unlock more lasers for you to lock down the inmates with. It’s always a good idea to buy new lasers because no matter how many facilities you have, you should always have plenty of lasers.
– Up Speed: this option will speed up the lasers and make them reach the walls faster, so that you can be more efficient and use fewer lasers in the lock down process.
I suggest that you upgrade both of those when you have some extra Cash laying around, because they are both going to come in handy and the more lasers you have, the more prison cell blocks you will be able to build and store prisoners in!
Watch your prisoners’ needs
You should always keep an eye on the prisoners needs! This is important because at some point, if you have some issues with certain stuff, your prison will collapse and you won’t be able to expand anymore.
Those needs can be found in the right side of the screen, the very first option. There you will see the Energy levels, the Oxygen level and the Water levels. Make sure that all of them are green because they keep your prisoners well.
Set free the prisoners
When you will improve and unlock more species of inmates, you should make sure that you let the old ones on Parole. That will earn you some money and will free up some space in the cell blocks. All you have to do is tap on a prison that you want to set free, then tap on Parole and you will see for how long that prisoner has been incarcerated and how much money you will get when setting them free.
Do this when you have unlocked newer and better inmates so your old ones will not go to waste in the Holding Cell!
