Complete the missions!
The world of Idle Fitness Gym Tycoon is always moving, whether you are actively playing or not. You have access to several different equipment when you first start out, so things might be a little overwhelming at first.
Do not worry! If you are ever unsure of what to work towards next, simply take a look at your Missions, which can be accessed by the exclamation mark button at the top right corner of the screen.
You will always have three missions at any given time, and they are there to lead you down the main progression route. Even better, you are rewarded with gems every time you complete a mission, so get to it!
Come back every two hours!
Once you have set up your gym with a decent amount of upgraded equipment, you can step away from the game and let the idle part come in and take over. Your gym will continue to make money when you are away from the game.
However, you need to know that by default your gym will only make money for two hours. Once you hit this cap, your gym will no longer make any profits until you come back and collect your earnings.
You can hire a general manager to watch over your gym for you, but it costs real money. Your offline time cap goes from two hours to ten hours!
It is fine if you do not want to hire a general manager, as you can make do with the two hour cap. Just be sure to check back every now and then to maximize your profits!
Increase your marketing for more customers!
Your gym is as good as your marketing, so you need to run many different ad campaigns if you want a steady stream of customers! If you tap on the megaphone icon, you can go to your Marketing Management.
Here, you can check the status of your brand image and ad campaigns. Your brand image is a general representation of your gym’s brand, and upgrading it will permanently boost the amount of customers your gym gets.
Ad campaigns are temporary boost to foot traffic in your gym. You have four options, each with their own price and strength of boost.
- Press ads are the cheapest and provide a 20% customer boost for 30 minutes.
- Radio ads are the middle of the road campaigns, and they grant a 30% customer booster and last for 1 hour.
- Television ads are the high end campaigns that provide 40% customer boost and last for 2 hours.
- Social Media ads are the most expensive and grandiose campaigns out there, being the most expensive but providing a 50% customer boost that lasts for a whopping 4 hours.
The price of each campaign scales with how far your gym has come along, so they will constantly being getting more and more expensive as you progress. In general, try to have the Press ad campaign going as much as possible, as it is the cheapest but still provides a lot more customers.
Remember that if you do active one of the expensive ads, like the TV or Social Media ads, you need to come back when the 2 hours are up if you are idling to collect your earnings.
Look at your stats to see where you can improve!
Next to the Marketing tab is the Stats tab. Here you can see a complete financial breakdown of your gym with helpful statistics including the amount of customers you see per minute, how many people your gym can hold total, your total amount of entrance queues, and the amount of available lockers.
You will notice that each one has a face next to it and a color which represent how well you are doing in that area. If it is green with a happy face, that means you are good to go, but if it is yellow with a sad face, that area needs improvement.
Number of customers too low? Upgrade your brand image and ad campaigns. Gym capacity too low? Build more machines! Entrance queue too high? Build more gates! Available lockers too low? Build more!
Another important piece of info here is your equipment statistics. All of your gym equipment is listed here, and you can see how much money they are making. The game even lists which ones are your most profitable and least profitable, so use this info to upgrade accordingly. Helpful stuff!
Buy some epic upgrades!
Each exercise station has its own set of upgrades that increase its efficiency and money making potential. There is also a set of upgrades known as the “epic” upgrades, and these upgrades provide substantial boosts to that station’s efficiency.
The best part about epic upgrades is that they are PERMANENT. This means that even if you buy a new gym, the epic upgrade will remain and you will still benefit from the boost.
There are two types of epic upgrades for the exercise stations: instructor and research. The Instructor will reduce the training time of that station by 50% and costs the most gems. The Research will increase the profits by 2% with each upgrade, and this one is the cheapest.
It is usually most efficient to get the Instructor upgrade across different stations, as it effectively multiplies that station’s income by 1.5 times. It costs the most gems though, so start saving up!
Renovate as soon as you can!
When you start bringing in the dough, you will eventually be eligible for a renovation. When your gym undergoes renovation, the entire building will change and you will gain a passive money multiplier.
For example, the first renovation “Urban Gym” will grant you a x50 multiplier on ALL earnings. As you can probably guess, renovating your gym is a huge boost to your overall income. As soon as you are able to, you should renovate at every chance you get!
There’s just one caveat to it – renovating resets your gym back to square 1, meaning you lose all of your exercise equipment and the upgrades, save for the epic upgrades. This means that you will need to work your way up again, but the trade off is worth it in the long run.
Don’t forget about the vending machine!
When your gym grows to monstrous proportions, it is very easy to lose track of things. One of the most important things to keep an eye on is your vending machine, located right next to the Running area.
The vending machine automatically generates earnings for you when people buy stuff from it, and it actually generates quite a lot of money over time. If you need some extra cash, don’t forget to check in with the vending machine.
The vending machine will have a little money icon over it when it is really stuffed with cash, so be sure to tap on it if you see it.
