Pokemon Sword And Shield have been released less than a week ago, and it seems like fans of the series are loving the new games, despite the controversy that has surrounded them in the weeks before launch.
One of the most common complaints is the fact that the two games are the first entries in the series that do not feature all of the Pokemon available so far, a valid complaint that is actually being addressed by people other than the developer.
Modder SciresM recently shared on Twitter that he managed to add Omastar to Pokemon Sword And Shield. The first-gen Pokemon is not included in the new games, but it has been added back by using the model from the Let’s Go games. Animations are fine for the most part, but stats are broken, not a huge problem as it seems like it can be fixed with some additional work.
As things stand now, it seems like it won’t take too long to get all of the original 151 Pokemon in the new games. Things are a bit more complicated for all the others, as they do not appear in the Let’s Go games, and the latest models are those taken from the last 3DS entries in the series, whose quality is lower. Still, this is impressive work, and it shows the power of the community when it comes together.
Pokemon Sword And Shield are now available on Nintendo Switch worldwide.
