During today’s Pokemon Direct, the Pokemon Sword And Shield Expansion Pass has been confirmed. The pass, which will be available for purchase soon, will include access to two paid expansions, the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra. The new expansions will include new forms, new Gigantamx forms, new Pokemon, a special Dojo and more.

The good news doesn’t end here. Accompanying the paid expansion will be two free updates which will add 200 returning Pokemon to Pokemon Sword And Shield.

Another free update will be released as soon as sales for the Expansion Pass begin. Two new characters, Klara and Avery, will be added to Pokemon Sword And Shield respectively, and Galarian Slowpoke will start appearing in both games.

The return of 200 Pokemon is very welcome, but it is not all that surprising, considering data miners found data for many monsters not included in the base games. Their upcoming addition also addresses one of the biggest criticism the two games have received, as they are the first entries in the series to not feature all of the previous generation Pokemon.

Pokemon Sword And Shield are now available on Nintendo Switch worldwide. The Isle of Armor expansion will release by the end of June 2020, while the Crown Tundra will be released sometime during Fall.
